Sleep Centers
WHY GO TO A SLEEP CENTER??
AND MOST ARE NOT AWARE OF WHAT THEIR EXACT CONDITION IS!!
only about five percent have been diagnosed and treated according to the National Sleep Disorders Research Center.
Sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy and restless legs syndrome, are more common than you think. An untreated sleep disorder can reduce your daytime productivity, increase your risk of accidents and put you at risk for illness and even early death.
WHAT IS A SLEEP CENTER AND WHAT DO THEY DO?
Sleep Centers use state-of-the-art computer equipment to monitor patients who suffer from sleep disturbances. Physicians who are qualified in sleep medicine work with highly-trained technical staff to evaluate test results.
Once a sleep study has been scheduled, patients usually spend one or two nights in the laboratory while their brain wave patterns (EEG) and other physiologic measures are recorded electronically. The testing is done in our comfortable, home-like bedroom – equipped with TV and other amenities.
Test results are sent to your physician, who will discuss treatment options with you. Most insurance companies provide coverage for the evaluation and treatment of certain sleep disorders. You should check with your insurance company before your sleep study to see what is covered. Your doctor or nurse can help you with any forms or procedures that your insurance company requires.
EMAIL US YOUR ZIP CODE AND NAME TO LOCATE THE SLEEP CENTER NEAREST TO YOU.
